Shipping Policy
This Shipping Policy describes how freight is picked up, transported, delivered, and how cargo claims are handled by AV Logistics Group INC, doing business as 1 Way Global Logistics ("we", "us").
1. Pickup
- Pickup windows are typically 4 hours wide (e.g., 10 AM – 2 PM). Firm-appointment pickup is available for an additional fee.
- Freight must be ready to load at the start of the pickup window — palletized, banded, and labeled where required.
- Bill of Lading (BOL): 1WGL will provide a BOL. Please have three signed copies ready — one for the driver, one for your records, one for us.
- If a driver arrives and freight is not ready, a wait-time or TONU (truck order not used) fee may apply.
2. Transit Times
Transit times are estimates unless a guaranteed service is purchased. Typical transit from our Banning, CA hub:
- Same-day metro CA: 1 business day.
- West Coast (WA, OR, NV, AZ, UT): 1–3 business days LTL / 1–2 days FTL.
- Mountain / Central (CO, TX, KS): 3–5 business days LTL / 2–3 days FTL.
- East Coast: 5–7 business days LTL / 3–4 days FTL.
- Expedited (all modes): direct-drive, transit calculated at 500 mi/day single-driver, 1,000 mi/day team.
Guaranteed-service tiers offer money-back-if-late refunds — ask when quoting.
3. Delivery
- Standard delivery is dock-to-dock. Residential, liftgate, inside, or white-glove services are available for an additional fee (specify at quote).
- Delivery appointments are booked directly between the carrier and the consignee. Appointments delayed by the consignee may incur storage or redelivery fees.
- The consignee must inspect freight upon delivery and note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing. Signing "clear" waives visible-damage claims.
4. Cargo Claims
Claims for loss or damage to freight are governed by the Carmack Amendment (49 U.S.C. § 14706) and the assigned carrier's tariff.
Time limits
- Visible damage: note on the delivery receipt at time of delivery.
- Concealed damage: report to 1WGL within 5 business days of delivery — sooner is better.
- Written claim: must be filed within 9 months of delivery (or of the delivery due date for lost shipments).
- Suit: if a claim is denied, suit must be filed within 2 years and 1 day of denial.
Required documentation
- Bill of Lading (BOL).
- Delivery receipt with damage notation.
- Paid freight invoice.
- Original invoice or replacement cost documentation for the damaged/lost item.
- Photos of damage where applicable.
- Repair estimate or salvage value for damage claims.
Submit claims by email to support@1waygloballogistics.com with subject line "Cargo Claim — Load [number]". We acknowledge within one business day and file with the carrier immediately.
5. Liability limits
Unless a higher declared value is specified in writing before pickup and additional charges are paid, cargo liability is limited to the applicable carrier's tariff:
- LTL: typically the lesser of actual value, $25 per lb, or per-shipment maximum in the carrier's tariff.
- FTL: $100,000 per shipment.
- Warehousing: $0.50 per lb per lost/damaged article (California Commercial Code § 7-204).
6. Refused or Undeliverable Shipments
If a consignee refuses delivery, or the shipment cannot be delivered (bad address, closed dock, missing appointment), the freight will be returned to the shipper or held at a terminal. Return, storage, and redelivery fees apply.
7. International & Cross-Border
We arrange U.S. domestic freight only. Mexico and Canada cross-border service is available on request through vetted licensed customs brokers — customs clearance, duties, and taxes are the shipper's responsibility.
